Sean Ooi is the visionary behind The Academy Music Centre — an entrepreneur and educator committed to raising the standard of music education in Malaysia.
From humble beginnings, he has grown The Academy into a thriving institution serving over 2,500 students across multiple branches. His philosophy is simple yet powerful: music education should be structured, inspiring, and designed to bring out the best in every student.
With a strong focus on quality, systems, and long-term growth, Sean has built The Academy into more than just a music school but a refined environment where students are guided to learn, grow, and excel.
Beyond education, his influence extends into retail, programme development, and strategic partnerships, continuously shaping a more dynamic and forward-thinking music ecosystem.

The Manager
Angie is the driving force behind the seamless operations at The Academy Music Centre a dedicated leader known for her precision, discipline, and uncompromising standards.
Managing with a firm yet purposeful hand, Angie ensures that every aspect of the branch runs with efficiency and consistency. Her ability to balance structure with foresight allows her to uphold the high standards The Academy is known for, while continuously improving the day-to-day experience for both students and staff.
Highly intelligent, resourceful, and exceptionally hardworking, Angie approaches every challenge with clarity and decisiveness. Her leadership is defined by accountability, strong systems, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

The Principal
At the helm of our academic direction is Momo Fariq, widely regarded as one of the most accomplished and qualified musicians within The Academy.
A true musical mind, Momo is a gifted composer, a multi-instrumentalist, and a musician with an exceptional ear that allows him to understand and shape music at the highest level. His depth of knowledge and artistry sets a standard that defines the very foundation of our programmes.
Known for his no-nonsense approach, Momo leads with clarity, precision, and an uncompromising commitment to quality. Every curriculum, every lesson structure, and every teaching standard under his direction is intentional designed to ensure real progress and musical excellence.

The Head of piano
Leading our piano faculty is Dr. Andre Ng a refined musician and educator whose depth of expertise sets the benchmark for pianistic excellence at The Academy.
Holding a PhD in Collaborative Piano from North Dakota State University, Andre brings a high level of academic rigour and artistic sensitivity into his teaching. His approach is meticulous and structured, yet deeply expressive — shaping students who are not only technically proficient, but musically mature.
As Head of Piano, Andre oversees the development of our piano programmes with precision and intent, ensuring consistency, progression, and high standards across all levels. His expectations are clear, his methods proven, and his results evident in the quality of students under his guidance.
Under his direction, the piano department continues to uphold a standard that is disciplined, refined, and unmistakably world-class.

Khairul is a commanding presence within The Academy Music Centre, a no-nonsense leader known for his discipline, structure, and ability to keep everything running exactly as it should.
With a firm hand and clear expectations, he ensures that standards are upheld and that every team member stays aligned with The Academy’s commitment to excellence. His management style is direct, decisive, and highly effective creating an environment where accountability and performance go hand in hand.
Yet beyond his strong exterior lies a natural charm that makes him effortlessly engaging a leader who knows how to connect, carry himself with confidence, and leave a lasting impression.
In every sense, Khairul brings balance to the team: firm when it matters, composed under pressure, and always in control.
